It has become painfully obvious that the people living now in the last half-century or so forgot what happened during the American revolution... One of the problems with British rule over the colonies with the fact that they would for No Good reason stop individuals on the street on the trails all over the place just to harass and brutalized those who lived in the colonies.... The Fourth Amendment was enabled to protect individuals from such harassment... Arbitrary stops by any government entity is a violation of the Fourth Amendment.... In the same way an officer or any other government individual cannot ask request or demand personal data on an individual without a legally valid reason... And the legally valid reason has to be a specific infraction or charge... Arbitrary stops such is this one, is meant to harass and condescend to individuals who have done nothing to warrant attention by law enforcement... And here we hear the cop talking about identification when there is no crime or infraction committed to warrant such a request.... Being verbally badgered or even physically abused by members of law enforcement is never acceptable.... and contrary to Supreme Court decision this is a violation of the Fourth Amendment... As many independent states have already realized and imposed restrictions on such arbitrary stops.... Texas the state where I live, recognize long ago, that dragnets and arbitrary stops a vehicles accomplish nothing except to harass citizens.... And it will be an issue very soon with the Supreme Court once again to make it a Nationwide requirement that such arbitrary actions by law enforcement not be permitted.... In compliance with the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution!!!

Being a cop is for those without skills, education, or ambition. Statistics tell us they have the highest incidence of alcohol, drug, and spousal abuse and suicide rates than any other occupation. In any state, it requires two to three years of training to be able to take the state exam to qualify for a barber's license. By contrast, you only have six months at a police academy to be a cop. This video is more evidence that no one should ever respect or trust trained, lying cops.

@@Clothahump1 He is right. That's why the country went into full riot mode in 2020. Because cops keep on making poor decision and are on a full on power trip. This means there is not enough training. Trust me I love police, and we need them. But there are too many untrained kids and boomer cops putting on a full power trip causing the country to be divided as a result. The reason it Is happening is because of body cams exposing bad actions by cops.

Strictly speaking these DUI check points are pretty much illegal....if you want to stand on principle and personal rights. Which are pretty important to me. However...... Many of us.....especially those of us who don't drink and drive.....don't mind a little inconvenience if it saves a friend or loved one from being killed by a drunk driver caught by a check point. For that I'll accept my constitutional rights being compromised a bit.

The U. S. Supreme Court says that DUI checkpoints are legal. State Police v. Sitz (1990), the Supreme Court determined that DUI checkpoints are legal. They do not violate the Fourth Amendment in the U.S. Constitution because they are brief enough to not be overly intrusive.Mar 11, 2024

Define "overly instrusive" ??? LMFAO. Pretty vague and open to wide interpretation isn't it?? And if I refuse to answer check point questions and subsequently detained for not answering, it is certainly no longer BRIEF and definitely INTRUSIVE. All without probable cause! Here's what Sitz said: "...Under the guidelines, checkpoints would be set up at selected sites along state roads. All vehicles passing through a checkpoint would be stopped and their drivers briefly examined for signs of intoxication. In cases where a checkpoint officer detected signs of intoxication, the motorist would be directed to a location out of the traffic flow where an officer would check the motorist's driver's license and car registration..." "We address only the initial stop of each motorist passing through a checkpoint and the associated preliminary questioning and observation [496 U.S. 444, 451] by checkpoint officers. Detention of particular motorists for more extensive field sobriety testing may require satisfaction of an individualized suspicion standard. Id., at 567.
